We are currently exploring alternatives to a single summit this year. Stay tuned for details.

From May 12Summit Group_01 to May 13, 2017, we hosted the inaugural Provincial Peace & Disarmament Summit. It opened on Friday with a premiere screening of the film “A Bold Peace,” an inspiring documentary about Costa Rica’s path of demilitarization. On Saturday, we had great speakers, workshops and panels and closed with songs from the Gettin’ Higher Choir. A big thanks to all of our speakers, participants and sponsors of our inaugural Provincial Peace and Disarmament Summit. It was a great success!

Check out the photos and our Summit 2017 Actions and Inspirations, a compilation of all the inspiring resources and the important actions that people shared during our closing summit session. Read our final Summit Report 2017 and our Summit Statement 2017. This is the petitionof signatures that we collected from delegates that urges the Government of Canada to participate in the UN nuclear ban talks and we have submitted it to our local Member of Parliament for introduction to the House of Commons. See also some of the media that we received about the summit.

Gratitude to our key note speakers: Jamie Swift, author of The Vimy Trap: Or How We Learn to Stop Worrying and Love the Great War; Nicola Peffers, author of Refuge in the Black Deck: The Story of an Ordinary Seaman; and Bill Geimer, author of Canada: The Case for Staying out of Other People’s Wars.
